Devlog #2: A Few New Character Portraits
The big thing we've been working on this past week is character portraits. The art style and scale of the game should allow us to give every character a unique portrait, even when they have minimal dialogue, which I'm hoping will go a long way toward making the world feel populated and alive. Depending how much difficulty that presents, we should have a good idea of whether it's feasible for the next (much larger) game, and so far, things are looking promising on that front. Take a look at:
Gytha, the chef at Camp Blackburn:
A "friendly" bandit players may encounter not far from camp:
Dudda, a young laborer at Camp Blackburn:
Some characters will have extensive dialogue, while others might pop in just for a word or two. Some will be essential pieces of the plot as a whole, and others will just add flavor and depth to the world. There'll be tons of detail in dialogue for those who want to really get to know everybody, but much of it will be optional, allowing more efficiency-minded players to plow straight into the story.

Looks good! I like the stylized, monochrome look you're going for.
Damn I love how they break out of the dialogue box. Looks excellent.
Looks super nice. Details like this really set a game apart.
