Progress Update: Editing Complete & Beta Prep

I've finished another major phase of development: editing. I'll still do quite a bit more before the official release and during final testing, but I spent a few focused play-throughs cleaning up what stuck out and simplifying some things. That also led to adding some stuff, but what can you do? Overall, it was a reduction. My self-flagellation word count progress graph has moved down, which for the first time is actually a good thing.

The next phase is going to be a beta test. I've got a few steps left getting everything set up in the app stores (for the Android and iOS releases), but I'm hoping to run it through most of December. I'll nail down a release date once that's in motion, but it's looking like it'll probably be mid January at this point. I've even set up a press kit to send out to some indie and adventure game sites to see if anybody wants to cover it. Everyone will just be clamoring to feature a minimal-graphics text-based adventure, I'm sure of it.

I'll post updates on some of the new features in the coming weeks, and once the beta's running I'll likely upload a new version of the demo that incorporates all of that stuff as well. It's almost there, getting really close.
